Pillivuyt

Sponsored by Pillivuyt

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to attend a three days blog tour to visit the beautiful Pillivuyt factory in  Bourges in France with a group of bloggers from Scandinavia. They’ve been manufactured quality porcelain for almost 200 years. Timeless is the word.

This old fabric is filled with gorgeous shapes, porcelain mass and a very lovely poetic light everywhere. Our guide had to wait for us all the time when we kept shooting pictures of all the hidden gem in the old fabric, there was so many pretty details to take pictures of. I mean I could have been shooting at this place for days. We went on guided historic tour in the fabric and saw some of all the processes in the production of the beyond beautiful porcelain. Pillyvuyt is known for its timeless design, high quality, stylish shapes and genuine materials that are made to last forever.

I found it very exciting and inspiring to get behind the scene on this old factory; it gave me a unique insight to the brand.

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to attend the Scandi Design Tour 2017 together with other bloggers from Europe, organised by Georg jensen and Fredericia Furniture.

On the second day of these two day we visited the Georg Jensen HQ in Copenhagen. Senior vp of design Nicholas Marville held a craftmamship tour in their smithy. He told us about the process of making the most aestheticly beautiful and perfectly crafted silver pieces by silversmeths who are specially trained in a four year Georg Jensen apprenticeship. I just found it very exciting and fascinating to get ‘behind the scene’ and get a peek into the process of the silversmiths work with their many tools.

Likewise we saw a part of how  the famous Torun Bangle designed by the talented Swedish  Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübeis is crafted. We  even tried some of the working procedures in the process by ourself guided by a silversmith. I loved to try the feeling of sewing in the beautiful silver piece and to sense the structur of the material in my hands. It was really an amazing experience.

Lastly we visited their Design Lab where we met the famous designer Aurélien Barby who designed their newly launched cocktail collection Sky. It was pretty awesome to hear the story of how the organic shapes in the collection came to live in a process and to see the amount of prototyping that goes into the design of a single product.

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to attend the Scandi Design Tour 2017 together with a group of bloggers from Europe, organised by Fredericia Furniture and Georg Jensen.

On the first day we visited the new Frederica showroom where Thomas Graversen, second generation owner of the family business and his son Rasmus Graversen held a craftsmanship and history tour in the showroom.

The visit at Fredericia also included a meeting with a craftsman from Tränsjo Garveri who showed us how the leather of the iconic Spanish chair is carefulyl cut , smoothened and colored on the sides. The Spanish chair was designed by Børge Mogensen i 1958, the second chair he designed using a combination of solid wood and saddle leather forming the seat and back.

In the afternoon we visited design studio Space Copenhagen. The design duo consisting of Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou. They told us a bit about their visions, their design process and their experiences with designing the Swoon chair  and Spine collection that they’ve designed for Fredericia Furniture. In the evening we had an amazing dinner on Fredericia Furniture’s rooftop and made our own coocktail with the new Georg Jensen Sky bar collection.

Ready Made Curtain by Kvadrat

Sponsored by Kvadrat .

I recently had the great pleasure to try, style and photograph the Danish Kvadrat’s new Ready Made Curtains designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. The Ready Made Curtains has a clever hanging solution. The two corners got a connecting piece, the ends the two main mechanism, the cord was easily to being pulled tight by winding the handles, and the fabrics easily being put up by attaching pegs and simply hanging it onto the cord. Awesome materials, innovation and functionality characterizes the beautiful curtains from Kvadrat. I’ve chosen the grey hanging mechanism with Ace 103 textile with a gorgeous texture.

I was inspired by the Danish summer, beach, corals, light, textures, materials and movement for my styling of ready Made Curtains for Kvadrat. I always find the proces of finding a theme for my styling assignments very exciting and challenge. I prefere to find a topic to get inspired by which makes the styling job even more interesting.

Marktgasse Hotel, Zürich

Sponsored by Marktgasse Hotel, Zürich

July 27th – 30th I was invited to visit and photograph the stylish Marktgasse Hotel in Zürich in Switzerland. The newly renovated boutique hotel is located in a historic building from the 15th century in the charming old town of the city. The hotel has 39 individually furnished rooms and I was lucky to stay in a beyond beautiful room on the second floor with a lot of natural light streaming through the windows. I really felt at home met by the kind and helpsome staff in the combinated reception and lobby area. Many of the heritage elements have protected status and are carefully preserved, which bring a cozy atmosphere, personality and charm to the hotel. I love how the hotel has been choosing so much beautiful timeless and eclectic design interiors to the hotel which gives the place so much character. The hotel has a brasserie, a bar and a café where you can enjoy very delicious and healthy food or you can have a before drink in the Baltho bar. With easy access to cafes, muesums, historical monuments, shops and wine bars, one does not need to travel far to experience the joys of being in Zürich.
