Hôtel Vernet, Paris

October 25th-27th I felt lucky to visit and photography the iconicl Hôtel Vernet in Paris. The hotel is located in the 8th arrondissement close to Arc de Triomphe, Avenue George V., Grand Palais and Chailot museums. The once traditional Hôtel Vernet has been transformed by Paris based architect Francois Champsaur into a sleek new 50-room boutique hotel. Housed in a post Hausmann building that dates from 1917, the exterior is the embodiment of Parisian charm, which complements the fresh modernity that lies within.  I really felt at home met by the kind and helpsome staff in the reception. The hotel has a comfortable lounge bar, an excellent modern restaurant and the generously sized bedrooms mix natural wood, colouful throws and jazzy bathrooms. The beautiful furnitured bedroom really made me feel for spending a relaxing time in this gorgeous hotel. All design interior has obviously been carefully choosen for this gorgeopus hotel. The spectacular restaurant has a breathtaking glass dome designed by civil engineerGustave Eiffel a century ago.

October 27th-29th I had the great pleasure to visit and photography the stylish boutique Hotel Panche in Paris. The hotel is dressing in the corner of rue Faubour Montmartre and rue Geoffroy Marie in the heart of the 9th district in Paris. The hotels is not far away from the Grands Boulevards, theaters everywhere, lovely restaurants and almost neighbor to the beautiful Montmartre with a stunning view over the French capital.

I felt very comfortable and cozy staying at this unique hotel with a very playful modern design interior, a touch of  Art Nouveau and so many carefully choosen retro details everywhere. A gorgeous lobby area where I was enjoying my afternoon tea while sitting in the rust plush coaches feeling the cozy atmosphere. The hotel is designed by the French interior designer Dorothee Meilichzon.

I had the most delicious and healthy breakfast at David Lanher’s adjacent restaurant. Likewise I had a fabulous dinner in ditto restaurant with localy sourced food at affordable prices. I can warmly recommend to try it.

July 27th – 30th I was invited to visit and photograph the stylish Marktgasse Hotel in Zürich in Switzerland. The newly renovated boutique hotel is located in a historic building from the 15th century in the charming old town of the city. The hotel has 39 individually furnished rooms and I was lucky to stay in a beyond beautiful room on the second floor with a lot of natural light streaming through the windows. I really felt at home met by the kind and helpsome staff in the combinated reception and lobby area. Many of the heritage elements have protected status and are carefully preserved, which bring a cozy atmosphere, personality and charm to the hotel. I love how the hotel has been choosing so much beautiful timeless and eclectic design interiors to the hotel which gives the place so much character. The hotel has a brasserie, a bar and a café where you can enjoy very delicious and healthy food or you can have a before drink in the Baltho bar. 11 Howard, New York

Howard-2

This summer I had the great pleasure to visit and photograph the beautiful design hotel 11 Howard during my summer holiday in New York. With it’s very casual luxury, 11 Howard is destined to become a classic. This innovative hotel combines cutting – edge Scandinavian design with oicially conscious hyperlocalism. More than just an ideal vantage point for downtown exploration, the property is an art spectacle in itself and a community hub partnered with a range of local business and nonprofits. 11 Howard describes its raison d’être as “conscious hospitality”. This begins with the hotel’s design by Space Copenhagen, a Danish firm known for its out-of-the-ordninary approach to interior spaces. 11 Howard is Space’s first project of its kind in New York, and a true standout in the city’s hotel world, with an emphasis not just in form, but on long-term function. The design team has gutted a characterless structure, reinventing the interiors with a dose of Scandinavian minmalism. The rooms contain custom furniture and lightning by Danish brands Mads Raaschou and Gubi, with a few pieces by Sapce Copenhagen themselves, as well as the oak-plank floors with soft natural bamboo area rugs.

11 Howard has reinvented social spaces, making them multifunctional and moving them to the second floor, as true extensions of the guest rooms. With plentiful tables and chairs, The Library is an ideal place to work, meet, sip tea in the afternoon, or unwind with a cocktail in the evening.  The Library features the iconic Charlottenborg chair designed by Arne Jacobsen (Sika Design), Stay Sofa, Stay Lounge Chair by Gubii and other furnitures collected from around the world.

The Danish Oliver Gustav is a creative consulent with focus on aesthetic development, art, interior and exterior. His approach to interiors is artisanal and thoughtful. He creates spaces that convey a quite and yet dramatic atmosphere, where the stark and modern are contrasted against rare antique findsand exquisite curiosities. From his  gallery in New York which is placed at the same addrss as 11 Howard, Oliver Gustav offers unique and limited edition pieces , from carefully curated edit of international designers and artists.Howard-7

The rooms on 11 Howard features custom-made wall lamps by Gubi.

With arched windows facing Howard Street, 11 Howard’s bar and loung welcomes guests to work, mingle and relax. From lihtt and open to sensual and inviting, the bar’s ambiance transformers throughout the day. The blond is a stylsih place to kick off a night in new York, as dark woods, subdues colors, low lighting, and gold accents lend a seductive edge to the sapce, a bronze animal masks glint in the sahdows. The space features the Spine Lounge Petit by Space Copenhagen (Fredericia Furniture).

When it comes to dinning in New York, authenticity is everything. That’s why we enlisted the experitise of accomplished restaurateur  Stephen Starr to create an extraordinary dining etablishment on property. Le Coucou, a collaboration between Starr and internationally acclaimed chef/restaurateur daniel Rose of Spring and La Bourse et La Vie in Paris, is the consummate french experience. A menu of simple yet refined dishes reflects Rose’s personal version of French cuisine aimed a bringing great food and conviviality to the table. An exceptional list of wines and spirits, paired with the utmost of hospitality, takes dining at Le Coucou to the next level. Designed by Rowan and Williams, guests can enjoy a spectacular meal in the most charming of settings.

Hotel Danmark, Copenhagen

1 - 3DDA couple of weeks ago I did attend the annual design and interior evet 3 Days Of Design in Copenhagen. I’m sure that you’ve already seen some of the pictures that I’ve been sharing on both my Instagram account and my stories. During the 3 Days Of Design I finally got a chance to stay at Brøchner Hotels’s newly opened and renovated Hotel Danmark. I felt a warm welcoming and was so glad to reconize the same sweet staff that I know from my favorite SP34 which also belongs to Brøchner Hotel’s.

The stylish boutique hotel offers several different beyond beautiful rooms which makes it so exciting to see which room that you’re going to stay in every time that you’re staying at the hotel. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy even that the hotel has a quite minimalistic style. All the rooms is decorated with carefully chosen design interior, stylish solutions and extravagant features as you can see on the picture above left. The blankets and pillow are from the Danish brand Aiayu.

Image above left is from their gorgeous and cozy lobby where I loved to sit working and did enjoy their relaxing signature ‘Wine Hour’ from 5 – 6pm.

The  with hallway inspired by the Danish Thorvaldsens Museum and it’s just stunning with the strong colours, beautiful tiles and changing light during the day (picture below left). I do always prefere to stay at design hotels in which I can identify with my own aesthetic and minimalistic style because it makes me feel very comfortable.

I just felt in love with their small charming and adorable backyard with view to the typical Danish archicture from the 19th century, plants climbing on the walls and colourful furnitures from the French brand Fermob. Such lovely experience and I just can’t wait to return to this aestheticly beautiful hote.
